Over the last couple of years, the large Indian conglomerates - Tata Group, Reliance Group, Mahindra Group, Aditya Birla Group, to name a few, have substantially increased the share of revenues from their global operations as depicted in the below chart.

Note: Figures in brackets indicate number of group companies analyzed having comparable data. Financial institutions have not been included in this analysis.

This spurt in global revenue has been through a combination of both, organic as well as inorganic route. Will the India Growth Story & Make In India campaign meaningfully alter the domestic share of revenues of these conglomerates? We shall wait and watch!
